General Policies

Policies and Acceptance Agreement for Grandview Catering:

1. A deposit of 50% of your estimated total or a minimum of $200 is required to guarantee a proposed catering date.

2. Menus are subject to change up to seven days prior to scheduled event, if needed.

3. Final Guest Count for your event is required 72 hours prior to scheduled guest arrival time.

4. If it is not indicated on the final copy of your function sheet, it probably will not happen. If you have something missing from your function sheet, make sure you notify us immediately.

5. We require that the server employment considerations adhere to our recommended server/guest ratios.

6. With regard to any items left on site for display, the purchaser agrees to return all items in good condition within 24 hours of the event, unless pickup service has been arranged.

7. Purchaser agrees to be responsible for all rented items (i.e. China, Glassware, etc.); any breakage will be charged to purchaser within 14 days of completion of said event.

8. Grandview Catering is not liable for Alcohol Service or any alcohol on premise of any function or event.

9. A Delivery fee is required for most jobs. A delivery fee of $20 will be itemized on your estimated total. In town deliveries that do not require a return pick up will be charged $10 for that delivery. Deliveries outside the Traverse City limits will accrue an additional $1 per mile traveled for most situations.

10. An event may be cancelled up to two weeks prior to scheduled date, with return of deposit, and up to 72 hours prior to scheduled date, with loss of deposit.   After 72 hours, we require that you pay 80% of food and service charges.

11. In the event of overestimating guest counts, Grandview Catering will reduce your food charges by 5%. If you underestimate your guest count, it is our policy to be prepared to serve 5% more than your final guest count, and the extra meals served will be added to your total.

12. Leftover food in most cases will be made available to you. It is your responsibility to make arrangements to have said leftovers packaged. In certain instances, Grandview Catering will bring more food than is necessary to an event and will retain rights to that extra food.

13. In the event of inclement weather, the Lead Server for Grandview Catering may make changes in certain outside arrangements, with the purchaser's best interest in mind. It is at Grandview Catering’s discretion to adjust any set programs in order to ensure the event’s success, in the event of dramatic weather or safety concerns.

14. To have an event billed or to set up a house charge with Grandview Catering, you must have prior acceptance from our Accountant, Trish Wiltse, @ 947-2111.

15. Amounts of food negotiated are based on a reasonable portion per person. If you are anticipating a greater than average consumption, it is your responsibility to negotiate portion size prior to event. The prices for Grandview Catering do not provide for an all-you-can-eat buffet.

16. Grandview Catering is not liable for inclement weather or any other unforeseen reasons that deter the use of our services.

Note

A notice of at least two weeks is required to attain most service personnel.
